A high-impact visual narrative designed to embody the speed, performance, and innovation behind the Metaspeed Tokyo Collection. Built around momentum, the film combines rapid cuts and high-energy transitions with suspended, slow-motion airborne moments – wrapped in speed blurs – to create a visceral sense of weightlessness and forward motion. Hero product shots are interwoven with tight detail close-ups and CG motion-captured, rigged athletes in full stride, forming a powerful contrast between engineered precision and race-day performance.
Speed exploration became a core part of the visual development process – an opportunity to test how motion could be felt. Through a series of exploratory studies, we pushed timing, framing and distortion to find a language that captured pure momentum with clarity and impact.
From stretched transitions and directional blurs to suspended moments of stillness, each test was designed to heighten the sensation of acceleration. The result is a motion system that balances control and intensity – expressing the precision of the product while amplifying the energy of race-day performance.
To bring the shoe into CG, we developed a bespoke 3D weave system that allowed us to construct the upper as a true-to-design asset. Built to reflect the structure and materiality of the physical product, the system gave us control at a macro level – capturing the shoe’s technical complexity in a way that’s accurate, lightweight and visually refined.
The film is framed as an innovation story – opening in a world of construction, testing and precision engineering. Lasers sweep across the surface, forms are analysed in motion, and the innovation lab becomes the stage where performance is built.
To bring a human dimension into the film, we built a fully rigged 3D runner driven by motion-captured performance data. This gave us a physically grounded, expressive athlete – capturing the nuance, intensity and precision of real movement in a form that could be pushed cinematically.
The innovation environment was designed as a clean, elevated stage for the product – combining sculptural plinths, a precision-built lab setting and layered tech screens to create a world rooted in performance and progress.
We designed a bespoke screen language for ASICS – creating a brand-ownable interface that feels rooted in performance, precision and innovation. Built to sit naturally within the wider lab environment, the screens combine technical clarity with a distinct visual identity that supports the film’s future-facing world.
The film is built to capture the innovation, energy and performance behind the Metaspeed Tokyo Collection. Moving between engineered detail and explosive performance, it brings together product construction, innovation cues and athlete motion in a single high-impact visual launch narrative.
