PDW Rebrand Case Study

Brief

PDW Group UK, a training and technology solutions consultancy, were looking to update their corporate identity to attract new clients to grow and develop their business. They wanted to convey a professional image tailored to their industry but illustrate their fun and dynamic edge.

Solution

After we had visited PDW and discussed their aspirations we had a firm understanding of their business and the best way to add value to the project. Pooling our creative and technical minds together, the Wonder Vision team arrived at the following innovative solution for PDW’s rebrand.

Corporate Identity

The first step of creating a new logo for PDW fell to our graphic design team. We created several themes which were then further developed whilst working along side PDW to achieve a results that they were thrilled with. Having the basis of the new brand we could then reflect the new brand across the rest of their digital and print media.

Website Design

We designed and developed a stunning graphical website interface that is easy to navigate. To reflect the fun image PDW desired our graphic design team created caricatures for their meet the team page, which have been utilised across all of their marketing media. A blog was built into the website to encourage discussion and interaction between their clients, whilst also creating up-to-date content that will help to increase their search engine page ranking.

Working with PDW’s current web development team we implement the HTML code and back-end content management system (CMS). This gives the client the freedom to change their text, images, video and blog content at their disposal, without specialist software and a degree in computer sciences. View PDW’s website

Photography

PDW offer venue hire within their East Midlands based facility. It was important to capture the venue rooms at their best, so one of  our photographers shot panoramic photos of every room. After post production the images were added to their website to showcase their training facilities.

Result

PDW are delighted with their new branding and the implementation of it across all of their digital and print media. The project is a good example of how our multidisciplinary range of services meant that PDW could commission WV for all areas of their re-brand, designing an effective GUI, graphics, stunning photography and technical expertise, allowing them to keep the cost to a minimum.

“I just wanted to write you to now that the bulk of our recent relaunch project work has been completed and delivered, in order to express my thanks. I have had relatively little experience of graphic design companies specifically, but I wanted to say how impressed I have been with the quality of the ideas you and your team have come up with. I was also delighted with the friendly and efficient manner in which the overall work was delivered. In short, we are delighted with the new branding, the new website and the relaunch of our company overall and the big part Wonder Vision has played in this. Thank you.” Jim Thomas | Director | PDW Group

Impact

Good design is good business; is something that we often explain to our clients. These statistics from PDW’s Google Analytics account however do the talking for us. The statistics and the images that follow look at the direct effect of their new website, comparing the website visitors, page views, time on site and bounce rate before and after our redesign, which went live on 1st January 2011.

Website Visits: Month of December (before new website) 431. Month of January (after new website) 1,538. This is a 357% increase in website visits.

Page Views: Month of December (before new website) 654. Month of January (after new website) 5,535. This is an 846% increase in website page views. This means that visitors enjoyed the graphical interface,  found it easy to navigate, professional and viewed more pages meaning they are potentially more likely to use one of PDW’s services.

Time on Website: Month of December (before new website) 1 min 36 sec. Month of January (after new website) 2 min 2 sec, with a further increase in May to 4 min 06 sec.  This showed an initial 32.7% increase and now a 298.5% increase in the time spent on the website by each user.

Website Bounce Rate (when a web user lands on your site and leaves immediately): Month of December (before new website) 74.3%. Month of January (after new website) 55.3%, and continuing to fall. This is an 19% decrease in the number of people bouncing from PDW’s webiste. Previously only 1 out of 4 people would stay on PDW’s website and browse other pages, suggesting that they did not like the graphics and identity of the company. Now nearly half of the users that find their website stay on it.
